Questions we get asked

Is it really solid wood?
Yes. Solid American black walnut all the way through. No veneer, no particle board, no MDF.

Why does the round cost more than the square?
Cutting a true circle and sanding the full edge takes more shop time than a square, so the rounds are priced higher.

Can I buy just the top?
Yes. Choose “Top Only” to use your existing bases.

Can I order it unfinished?
Yes. Choose “Unfinished” and we sand the top smooth and ship it ready for your finisher or the finish your designer specifies, at a lower price (it shows when you pick the option). Seal it before it goes into service: raw walnut marks and stains easily. The 3-year structural warranty still applies; the finish warranty covers our finish only.

How does the bulk discount work?

How long until it arrives?
We build each table by hand after you order, and it arrives in about 2–3 weeks, including transit. Shipping is free to the lower 48. Opening on a deadline? Email us before you order and we’ll confirm the date.

How do I care for it in a restaurant?
Wipe with a damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner, then dry. Skip bleach, ammonia and degreasers, and don’t leave standing water. The hardwax oil finish is tough and made for daily use, and because the top is solid walnut, it can be refinished if it ever needs it.

Will mine look exactly like the photos?
Close, but not identical. The tops in our photos are real walnut tops photographed in our showroom; the bases and room settings are added digitally to show how they look in use. Every walnut board has its own grain and color, so each top is one of a kind.

Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. Visit our showroom at 1730 Robins Rd in Hiawatha, Iowa (Mon–Sat 10–5), or email us for photos of current builds.

What if something goes wrong?
You’re covered by our warranty: 3 years against structural defects in commercial or restaurant use and 1 year on the finish. If something fails, we repair or replace it.

Can I pay over time?
Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout.

Made by our family, from our own walnut

Our walnut comes from our family’s sawmill in southeast Iowa. We kiln-dry every board ourselves to 7–10% moisture so it stays flat and true, then build each table by hand in our shop in Hiawatha, Iowa.
