Knot Just Tables started the way most family businesses do — with someone who was good with their hands, and a family willing to bet on them. What began as one person's workshop has become a small, multi-generational business, and the way we build furniture hasn't changed much since day one: one glue-up at a time, by hand, with real materials.
Every piece we make starts as solid American black walnut — never veneer, never particle board dressed up to look like something it isn't. We kiln-dry every board before it becomes a tabletop, because stability matters more than speed. And we finish every top in a hardwax oil with zero VOCs, so the wood's natural grain and character come through instead of being buried under a heavy topcoat.
We build two kinds of pieces: the ones that go into a home — a coffee table that anchors a living room, a dining table where a family actually gathers, a bench by the front door — and the ones that go into a business — a conference table that makes a boardroom feel considered, a bistro table built to handle years of restaurant service. Different rooms, same standard.
We're not the biggest shop, and we're not trying to be. We're a family business, building furniture for other families and other small businesses — one table at a time.
A quick note on the name: Knot Just Tables is our website and where you'll find our full line of solid walnut furniture. Behind it is Knot Just Lumber, the family lumber and woodworking business we've always been — this site is simply where that craft comes together into finished tables, desks, and benches for your home or business.
