Questions we get asked

Is it really solid wood?
Yes, every part is solid American black walnut. No metal, no veneer, no particle board.

Will it hold up to kids and everyday dinners?
Yes. Solid walnut is a dense, durable hardwood, and our hardwax oil finish is built to stand up to everyday meals, spills and homework. Because it's solid wood, the top can be refinished down the road, something a veneer or laminate table can't offer.

How long until it arrives?
We build each piece by hand after you order, and it arrives in about 2–3 weeks, including transit. Shipping is free to the lower 48.

Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. Visit our showroom at 1730 Robins Rd in Hiawatha, Iowa (Mon–Sat 10–5) to see and touch the walnut, or email us for photos of current builds.

How do I care for it?
Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth and dry it. Skip harsh cleaners, and use coasters and trivets for hot or wet items. The hardwax oil finish is tough and made for daily use. And because the top is solid walnut all the way through, not a thin veneer, it can be refinished if it ever needs it.

Can you build a custom size?
Often, yes. Email help@knotjusttables.com or call (319) 536-7592 with your room measurements and we'll tell you honestly what will fit.

Is assembly required?
Basic assembly may be needed for large pieces. Prefer it set up for you? Add White Glove Delivery and we'll carry it in, set it up and take the packaging with us.

What if something goes wrong?
You're covered by our warranty: 5 years against structural defects in a home (3 years in commercial or restaurant use) and 1 year on the finish. If something fails, we repair or replace it.

What if I change my mind?
Cancel within 48 hours of placing your order for a full refund, no questions asked. Once it's delivered, you have 30 days to return it. Email help@knotjusttables.com or call (319) 536-7592 to start a return.

Can I pay over time?
Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout.

Made by our family, from our own walnut

Our walnut comes from our family's sawmill in southeast Iowa. We kiln-dry every board ourselves to 7–10% moisture so it stays flat and true in your home, then build each piece by hand in our shop in Hiawatha, Iowa. Come see the walnut in person at our showroom, 1730 Robins Rd, Hiawatha (Mon–Sat 10–5), or reach us at help@knotjusttables.com or (319) 536-7592. “We had these guys make us a custom slab for a very large table in our home. I shopped around for a very long time and to find something the size I wanted was impossible. They made this awesome slab out of 5/4 walnut and edge glued it. It turned out, absolutely amazing. I put it on a set of table legs and it seats 10 people. Will definitely use this place again.”
